East Asia Forum is published once annually in the fall as a venue for graduate students to publish their research. We are seeking submissions, including book reviews, on East Asia in either the humanities or social sciences. Papers must not be longer than thirty-pages, double-spaced in length (before bibliography); book reviews must not exceed four pages double-spaced in length. Please send a query to the address below should you desire to make a submission outside the content dictated by this cover.

Submissions should be made electronically as Microsoft Word documents and sent to eaf@asiapacificreader.org. In the case electronic submission is impossible, please send your paper to the following address:

All submissions must conform to the guidelines dictates in The Chicago Manual of Style, 14th Edition. Notes in particular should appear at the bottom of each page.

Submissions will be forwarded to appropriate referees in the field for anonymous review. Due to time constraints, only authors of papers selected for publication will be notified. Comments made by the referees concerning revision of the paper will be made available to the author at the time of acceptance. All final papers must be re-submitted as electronic documents in Microsoft Word format before the deadline indicated in the acceptance letter. The editors reserve the right to edit any manuscript accepted for publication.

The deadline for submission for Volume 12 (2009 Fall) is April 6, 2009. Any comments or suggestions on this or future issues may be sent to either of the addresses cited above.
